Founded in memory of Army Cpl. Chris Coffland, CAL enables post-9/11, combat wounded veterans to regain and maintain their physical and mental health by providing fitness programs, memberships, or in-home gym equipment anywhere in the United States, combined with CAL’s unique MAPS Program which ensures success by offering motivation, accountability, and peer support through squads of veterans healing each other – Vet-to-Vet. Rated 2016 Top Non-Profit by www.greatnonprofit.org.
Catch A Lift’s Founder and President, Lynn Coffland, has driven this mission to help more than 3,000 wounded veterans in the past seven years. Because of the program's incredible success, the waiting list has grown to nearly 500 wounded veterans who need assistance, and CAL needs to raise $500,000 to meet their needs.
Thanks to Westport's generosity and support, this town has become an anchor and home for Catch A Lift. Over the past three years, Westport has opened our doors to many veterans, offering a "Westport Hug" rarely seen in other places around the country.
With your help, Catch A Lift raised a record $1 million in 2016 for post-9/11 wounded combat veterans! Catch A Lift was honored to ring the NYSE opening bell, awarded a grant from the Bob Woodruff Foundation, and — most importantly — was able to employ Catch A Lift alumni veterans to train other veterans in need.
Please help us make the infamous Westport hug even wider.
